Miu Miu's got me dreaming.
The word is out and about that Miu Miu's Fall '10 campaign video was directed by Madonna!
“We were supposed to shoot a video, so Madonna said she wanted to direct it. They said she could do it but they weren’t going to pay her and she started laughing. She put on her iPod and taught us moves and we shot the video for two hours.” says Siri Tollerod, who stars in the campaign.
Watching the video, you can ovbiously see Madonna's creative initiative to it.
As for the collection, I love it! Every piece is so wearable and cute...and it has the girlish mod feel to it which reflects the brands youthful, feminine outlook.
And it looks like the fashion editors feel the same way about the collection, where the covers of Vogue, Elle and W all featured the same Miu Miu dress! While Bristish Vogue and W featured the same dress in orange and yellow, Elle was featured a more subtule version in lilac and lace.

Is it 1960 or 2010?
I seems like we're having a blast from the past-- with 60s inspired style coming from all different directions!
60s Supermodel- Jean Shrimpton in a ruffle bustier. It seems that this may have influenced Prada's Fall 2010 ready-to-wear collection. (Miranda Kerr)
Lindsey Wixson, in the Miu Miu 2010 ad campaigns really reminded me of 60s supermodel twiggy, with the innocent, doll-like face, skinny legs and eyes that pop with thick eyeliner and thick lashes. But it wasn't only the model that made Miu Miu go 60s, it was the actual collection- with mini-skirts, fun prints and amazing platform shoes!
I belive the Missoni 2011 Resort collection is pretty self-explanatory. The tribal prints, graphic prints, scarves, jewerly and hats-- it's all like a big 60s mash-up...(but an awesome one).
Which also reminds me of the Chanel 2011 Resort Collection- that had a HUGE, and I say HUGE 60s vibe:
I now rest my case!

Currently crushing on....
This playful, red dress from the Versus Fall 2010 ready-to-wear collection particulary caught my eye a couple of days ago. (Model: Lindsey Wixson)
I absolutely adore the heart cut-out bustier, and how the dress stops at the waist and then goes out. It can be used casual with a jacket and accessories or with your favourite pair of heels for a night out- this is a more playful version of all the micro-minis we've been seeing this season and it's definately going to stay a la mode!

Summer or Winter...
So, you may be expecting a summer post right now- because right now it's all about summer style! But in the Southern Hemisphere, it's winter at the moment. So I decided to be nice to both sides of the equator by finding a style that can work in both summer and winter...and I stumbled upon this set and thought it was the perfect example of what I wanted to express.

Miu Miu Platform Shoes.
Miu Miu is becoming really popular amongst many fashionistas on lookbook.nu and I understand why- the new prints, the doll-like style, and amongst all... THE PLATFORMS!
The platform shoes are so cute and they can turn any dull outfit into one that's uber cute! Plus, since the heel is really thick- it will be really good for walking! Practical and stylish- can it get any better? Not to mention the Miu Miu S/S prints and fun colours! I have a feeling it's going to be an "IT" shoe for a little while, I don't think it will last too long- but for now it's becoming a spreading epidemic that you don't want to miss!

Model of the Moment: Karlie Kloss
Teen Vogue's interview with Karlie Kloss for the May 2010 issue:
TWO WORLDS COLLIDE
It's the first day of New York Fashion Week, and Karlie Kloss is lying on a blanket of snow in the middle of Central Park. "Watch out for the yellow parts!" she cautions her friend Brittney. "Oh, Karlie, we're going to be soaking," Brittney shrieks, fanning her arms and legs in the snow. Both erupt into laughter.Just an hour earlier, over lunch at a neighborhood restaurant in Tribeca, a few blocks from where Karlie has an apartment (though she still calls St. Louis home), I had offered some ideas of what we might do this afternoon. The seventeen-year-old supermodel doesn't walk her first show until tomorrow, and she's taking advantage of the rare day off to hang out with her high school buddy. This is Brittney's first time visiting Karlie in New York and catching a glimpse of her friend's "other life." I had suggested pedicures or shopping, thinking a little pampering would come as a welcome treat. "I kind of "—Karlie hesitated, not wanting to hurt my feelings—"would you want to go to Central Park and make snow angels with us instead?"
SUPERNOVA
It's impossible to open up a magazine these days and not see Karlie Kloss's face in it. Smoldering as a modern-day Lauren Bacall in the Dior ads. The picture of undone cool in the Marc Jacobs Lola fragrance campaign. Her unique ability to morph into different characters has made her one of the most in-demand models in the industry. "She's a chameleon," says Dior designer John Galliano. "She becomes this other creature in front of the lens. She thinks about her role, her pose, her part. She's able to step in front of [photographer] Steven Meisel and all of us and be totally in control and self-assured, delivering pose after perfect pose."
Standing six feet tall with the natural grace of a dancer (she studied ballet for six years before she started modeling), Karlie is a photographer's and designer's dream. She leaps across the page in pictures (quite literally!), and her commanding, gazelle-like walk has made her runway royalty. "She's my lucky closer," says Jason Wu, who has assigned her the coveted finale spot at his show for the past four seasons straight. "She has such presence. You see so many girls who are so young; it's not very often that you find one with Karlie's poise. I don't think we've seen that since the supermodel days." Galliano agrees, "She has a frisson of old-school glamour."
ontrast that with the down-to-earth, unassuming Midwesterner whom you meet off camera, and you begin to see the wonderful contradiction that is Miss Karlie Kloss. "She baked me peanut butter cookies when she came in for her fittings," marvels Alexander Wang. "How sweet is that? At the end of the day," he adds, "even if you're the most beautiful girl in the world, if you make everyone's life miserable, you won't get far. Karlie is a rare balance of beauty and personality."
A DOUBLE LIFE
To say that Karlie Kloss is straddling two worlds would be putting it mildly. On the one hand, she's a typical seventeen-year-old. She's reading F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic The Great Gatsby for her eleventh-grade English class; she drinks hot chocolate, not coffee; and she recently got her driver's license, enthusing, "I cruise around to absolutely nowhere!" On the other, she's the new face of fashion. She logged more than 150,000 airline miles just in the last year, is on a first-name basis with Karl Lagerfeld, and is considered by some of the biggest names in the industry to be the next great American supermodel, a species believed to be on the verge of extinction not too long ago.
"It's ridiculously corny," she says, "but I feel like I have the best of both worlds. I'm able to travel and work with these iconic people in the industry, and then come home to St. Louis, go to school, and see Brittney and my friends in class. I just keep thinking how lucky I am that I haven't had to sacrifice anything." (She's worked out a special arrangement with her school whereby she takes courses online when she's traveling.) When I mention seeing a photo of her reading a book backstage at one of the shows, she laughs and admits that she was doing homework. "I have to show that to my teacher Ms. Brewster!" The hometown response to Karlie's success has been "incredibly supportive," she reports. "Everyone just kind of accepts it," says Brittney. "They've gotten over the shock of 'Oh my God, she's a supermodel!' It's just Karlie."
FAMILY VALUES
If you've ever been backstage at a show, you know that the sight of a model solving algebra equations isn't the norm. Parents are also few and far between. You're more likely to spot a boyfriend, and unfortunately, smoking is the favored activity. Karlie is at the opposite end of this spectrum. For one, she's always accompanied by an adult, be it her English teacher, who traveled with her to the Paris couture shows last summer (yes, really), or her uncle Keith, whom Karlie jokingly describes as a "big bodyguard." She adds, "I don't think guys have the nerve to come up to me with him around!" Having a chaperone is important not only to her family but to her. "I need that support," she says. "I don't want to be on my own yet. I'm not ready for that." It also "turns it into a vacation. We explore, visit museums, go out to dinner. It doesn't feel like work."
FINDING MR. RIGHT
The schedule of a top model doesn't leave much time for boys, but Karlie expresses relief that the ones at school are finally catching up to her in height. "My entire high school career—my entire school career—I've been like three feet taller than everyone in my grade," she says. "They're just now starting to grow, so I'm very happy about that!"
Nevertheless, she seems to be keeping her options open for now. "Tuesday night we sat courtside at the Knicks game," she says, joking that she was "scouting for boyfriends. They do have the height advantage!" She likes the idea of an all-American athlete. "We're covering all the bases," she says. "I'm going to go to a hockey game soon, and I love football. If Tom Brady ever becomes single, or if he has a brother, or someone Tom Brady–ish . . . ," she trails off, sounding very much like a typical teenage girl with a crush. Then she smiles and adds with a wink: "Don't tell Gisele."
THE NEXT CHAPTER
Karlie turns eighteen in August. "I can't believe I'm going to be a senior next year. It's crazy!" Despite a modeling career that shows no sign of slowing down, she's already setting other goals for herself. "One of those has always been some sort of medical degree," she says. "Something that would allow me to visit third-world countries and help children." To that end, she recently established Karlie Cares, an initiative that puts the spotlight on different causes she's passionate about. She's in the midst of planning a trip to Haiti to help the earthquake victims, which she hopes will be the first of many such endeavors. When I tell her that her activist spirit reminds me of another American supermodel who came before her, Karlie lights up. "Christy Turlington is my idol. She really is," she says of the 41-year-old model, wife, mother, and goodwill ambassador. "She's a gorgeous woman inside and out. I admire her work in the charity field. She's just been able to balance it all—and gracefully, as well."
FULL CIRCLE
As we wind our way through Central Park, just before saying goodbye, Karlie suddenly stops in her tracks. A rush of excitement comes over her. "That's the bridge!" she exclaims. "That's where I had my first Teen Vogue shoot—my first real photo shoot ever! It was my eighth-grade year," she recalls, "and I came up to New York for the first time to meet with my agency. I remember visiting the Teen Vogue offices, and after I left, I was like, I'm done! I can retire! I've seen Teen Vogue! Then I got the call telling me that I was confirmed for the shoot and that it was with photographer Arthur Elgort. Lo and behold, that was my first job! Right here in Central Park," she says. "And the rest is history."(The full story is in the May 2010 issue of Teen Vogue)

Mulberry Oversized Alexa Shiny Oak Leopard Bag
"Named after and inspired by modern British style icon Alexa Chung, this is the bag you've been waiting for. A cross between our iconic Bayswater and our men's briefcase, the Oversized Alexa is both formal and casual, structured and relaxed. Effortlessly chic."- MULBERRY

I've had my eye on this bag for quite a while now- isn't it beautiful?! The colour, print, size and shape of it all is absolutely perfect...a bag that can take you from day to night, shopping mall to party. Alexa Chung is one hell of a lucky girl to have this bag named after her- she deserves it! I really want this bag, other style icons apart from Alexa Chung are a big fan of this bag too- such as Olivia Palermo-. This bag is very NOW- it perfectly fits in with the new season's trends and is so far one of my most favourite accessories of the month!
And here is a gorgeous picture of Olivia Palermo showing off her new arm candy!
